Our Navigator print remembers Saint Brendan, also known as Brendan The Navigator, Brendan The Bold and Brendan The Mariner.
Brendan left the shores of Ireland in the 6th century to voyage across the Atlantic to America aboard a medieval “skin boat.” Some historians and researchers credit him with being the first man to discover America. His name lives on today around Ireland on cathedrals, churches, GAA teams and on stadia both in Ireland and across the world.
